Project Description:

Luca is a resident doctor in orthopedics and traumatology and is participating in the Translational Medicine PhD program. Her main interest is hand surgery. Connected to this topic, she is currently working on two systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and an observational study. In one of the meta-analyses, she intends to investigate the diagnostic performance of magnetic resonance imaging in the case of wrist cartilaginous and ligamentous lesions. The diagnostic accuracy of MRI in these lesions ranges on a large scale, therefore she aims to clarify the differences between the studies. Her second meta-analysis is about the correct clinical evaluation of two-point discrimination results of the hand. She also plans to start an international study, examining the role of two-point discrimination in the diagnosis of upper limb tunnel syndromes.
