Project Description:

Réka is a resident doctor at the 1st Department of Paediatrics, Semmelweis University. Her research interests include vaccine technologies, long-term effects following SARS-CoV-2 infection, and related to this, the long COVID syndrome. She is working on a meta-analysis and systematic review evaluating the effectiveness and safety of nasal influenza vaccines compared to injectable forms in children. Nasal administration might be favorable due to being less painful, time-saving, maybe even in subpopulations where it is contraindicated at the moment. The results could increase vaccination rates. Her second project is a registry analysis investigating the characteristics of the pediatric long COVID syndrome with the help of the multicentric pediatric Long COVID Registry. In her study, she aims to understand the clinical characteristics of a newly emerged condition.
