The Hungarian Pancreatic Study Group (HPSG) and the Translational Medicine Foundation organized their first "Challenge Day" on 22th August which brought together doctors, investigators, assistants and patients to take 2017 kilometres around the lake Balaton by bike.
Beside the members of HPSG, the staff of the UP Centre for Translational Medicine and patient members of HOPE (Hungarian Organization for Pancreatic Patient Education) took part in the event. Although our everyday roles are different, we all had a common goal: drawing attention to what all doctors, investigators and nurses work for on a daily basis. The aim of the Hungarian Pancreatic Study Group is to focus on the practical utilization of achievements obtained by clinical research, this way improving patients' quality of life.
HPSG wants to organize programs like this yearly, and together with the ever-expanding patient club we are planning an even bigger event in 2018, where we will welcome everybody from all over the country who consider healthcare improvement as an important issue.
