Acute Heart Failure Registry

Acute Heart Failure Registry

Cardiology

In the past decade, several registries have been studying acute heart failure patients in the United States and in several European countries. However, prospectively collected data are incomplete worldwide for Acute Heart Failure Complications (atrial fibrillation, renal failure, COPD, iron deficiency / anemia or sleep apnea) and for the clinical outcome, as well (hospital, 30-day and 1-year mortality, recurrent hospitalization). In addition, there is insufficient data on the clinical characteristics of acute heart failure patients, the risk factors for acute heart failure, type of heart failure (decreased heart failure, moderately reduced and sustained ejection fraction (HFrEF, HFmrEF and HFpEF) and about diagnostic and treatment procedures. It is not known how many patients develop advanced heart failure after diagnosis of acute heart failure and what factors determine it. Furthermore, we do not have enough knowledge of the effect of acute heart failure on the quality of life.

Our aim is to collect prospective data of the diagnosis, therapy and mortality of the disease and analysis of the clinical characteristics of patients who are hospitalized for acute heart failure due to cardiac / intensive care in cardiology / internal medicine, primarily due to cardiac dysfunction. Patients' follow-up is another goal of identifying patients with advanced acute heart failure. The data obtained during the study may serve as a basis for assessing the current supply situation for acute heart failure, to optimize the currently used medication and device management procedures and to develop future treatment strategies.
