Mission of the Translational Medicine Foundation
Core objectives
- To facilitate the practical implementation of scientific results and innovations in healthcare.
- To stimulate and standardise information exchange and data flow between universities, hospitals, and research centres, and to support their quality control. This can improve the quality of multicentre research and reduce the resources required for research.
- To help all members of society (including healthy individuals, patients, and physicians) understand and apply evidence-based knowledge in everyday life through multiple platforms (web, printed materials, videos, etc.).
- To participate in organising conferences and trainings, supporting research-related procurement and services, and assisting in the search and selection of human resources.
Operating principles
The Translational Medicine Foundation operates
• on a public-benefit basis,
• fully non-profit,
• transparently,
• and in a way that is accessible to everyone.
Infrastructure and professional background
To support these aims, the Chair of the Board of Trustees has made the Electronic Clinical Data Management System (ECDMS), which he developed, available to the Foundation free of charge under a licence agreement. For the operation of the ECDMS system, the Foundation has concluded a no-fee cooperation framework agreement with DIGITAL Számítástechnikai Kereskedelmi és Szolgáltató Kft.
Both the Translational Medicine Foundation and DIGITAL Kft. may enter into specific third-party agreements for operation or for development activities required for scientific research. These no-fee agreements reflect the Foundation’s strategic objectives and operating ethos.
The members of the Board of Trustees believe that the Foundation can make a significant contribution to improving the quality and impact of translational research in Hungary, ultimately leading to measurable health gains for the population.
