Translational Medicine Foundation

Goals of the Translational Medicine Foundation

Our aims

1. Facilitate the practical use of scientific results and innovations in healthcare.
2. Stimulate and standardise information exchange and data traffic among universities, hospitals, and research centres, and support their quality control. This can significantly improve the quality of multicentre research and reduce the resources required for research.
3. Help everyone (including healthy individuals, patients, physicians, etc.) understand evidence-based knowledge and implement it in everyday life across various platforms (web, print materials, videos, etc.).
4. Participate in organising conferences and trainings, research-related procurements and services, as well as in human resources search and selection.

Operating principles

The operation of the Translational Medicine Foundation is carried out:

• On a public-benefit basis.
• Entirely non-profit.
• Transparent to everyone.
• Accessible to everyone.

Results

1. Secure data-management system for scientific research (ECDMS):

To achieve the above goals, the Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees has made the Electronic Clinical Data Management System (ECDMS) created by him available to the Foundation free of charge under a licence agreement. For the operation of ECDMS, the Foundation concluded a no-fee cooperation framework agreement with DIGITAL Számítástechnikai Kereskedelmi és Szolgáltató Kft. Both the Translational Medicine Foundation and DIGITAL Kft. may enter into specific third-party agreements for operations or development required for scientific research. These no-fee agreements faithfully reflect the Foundation’s objectives and operating creed.

2. Modern e-learning education system:

The Foundation has developed modern digital learning materials in the key areas of translational medicine. After signing an agreement, the e-learning courses are available free of charge to Hungarian universities and their students, supporting unified, high-quality medical education.

The members of the Board of Trustees believe that the Foundation can significantly contribute to the development and quality improvement of translational research in Hungary, the main result of which will be health gains for the citizens of Hungary.
