Bence Szabó is an excellent statistician who is always available and proactive in coordinating teams. He is ready to help with the projects and ensure everything runs smoothly, especially for projects stuck in the statistical analysis phase. In September, he was named the Best Statistician of the Month.

Bence Szabó graduated as a biologist from the University of Veterinary Medicine, and got involved in mathematics later, during his doctoral studies at the Department of Paleontology at ELTE. He became a "self-made" statistician and then in the upcoming years he earned a degree as a biostatistician. When he started working at CTM, he helped the Dentistry Group to prepare the meta-analyses. Later, he was involved in the work of the Dermatology and Immunology Group and the Intensive Therapy Group. This academic year, he is also helping the Dentistry Group's first-year PhD students.

„There have been a lot of operational changes since CTM was launched, and we are trying to be more organized. We defined responsibilities and have a large knowledge base that anyone can access. For example, a software package has been developed that is perfect for carrying out simple analyses. It also makes our job easier to know exactly whom to ask our questions. Efficient work organization is a key issue, because we now have to support the work of many more Ph.D. students than three years ago, when CTM was launched. We currently have a team of five statisticians and several colleagues who support us part-time. As statisticians, we are always critical of research, making sure that the results are of good quality. We always have a meeting on Tuesday mornings to discuss our tasks with our colleagues.” Bence Szabó emphasizes the importance of the administrative work of statisticians, and as a future leader, he would like to improve it.
