Build the Basics Program
The BUILD THE BASICS program focuses on language training, with several hours of English tuition daily provided by the Department of Languages for Specific Purposes. In addition, students in this program participate as project students in the 1st-year Ph.D. projects and are also allowed to attend the courses designated for 1st-year Ph.D. students. By the end of the year, students must take an English language exam and submit a scientific report. Those who successfully complete the program and pass the exam will be automatically admitted to the EXPERT or Ph.D. program.
Target Audience
University graduates with an MSc degree, or students in the final year of their Master’s studies at medical, dental, pharmaceutical, or other faculties who are expected to receive their MSc diploma within six months.
Outcomes of the Training
- Understand the concept of healthcare delivery science as part of the translational medicine cycle.
- Gain insight into setting up a patient registry, initiating a clinical trial, or conducting a systematic review with meta-analysis.
- Critically appraise clinical research studies using a systematic approach.
- Acquire the basic knowledge and skills required for translational research.
- Expand their international professional network in translational medicine.
- Advance toward a PhD degree with high-level scientific achievements.
- Develop presentation, debating, organizational, and language skills.
