The predecessor foundation launched the Szeged Academy of Scientists in 2013. Based on its results, the initiative expanded in September 2021 into the nationwide National Academy of Scientist Education, involving Budapest, Pécs, Debrecen, and Szeged.
Its short-term goal is to support talented young people interested in biomedical research from high school onward and to make the scientist career path attractive; in the long term, to retain young researchers in Hungary.
