AIP Registry

AIP is a rare disease; its prevalence is only 0.82/100.00 inhabitants. There are different diagnostic criteria for each region and country, which makes for a difficult diagnosis. In its appearance, it can even mimic a pancreatic tumor, however, unlike the latter, it requires medication rather than surgery. There are two subtypes of the disease, which differ in their clinical and diagnostic characteristics, as well as their geographical distribution. The register makes it possible to map the diagnosis and treatment of the disease and to follow up the patients based on a uniform protocol.
